So another week has come and gone, but what were the stand-out stories? It’s been quite a big one in terms of tech news, with Google starting to roll out their new social networking service, Google+. There have been mixed reactions from early adopters, but it does look like it will be a pretty sharp package once fully complete and on general release.
One of my favourite board games has been used as the inspiration for a new activity on FourSquare. What’s being known colloquially as “World of Fourcraft” sees groups of people claiming neighbourhoods in New York as their own territories, much like the Parker Games classic, Risk – The Game of World Domination. Noah Everett, founder of TwitPic, put his own creation to obscure use early Tuesday morning, to show the Twittersphere exactly where he was, which turned out to be in the back of cop car. He tweeted: “…I guess you can’t walk down your own street half naked…who knew – I got a free ride home by the nice police officer”, although when this first surfaced it was unclear whether or not Everett had been arrested.
