Those of you who have already opened up your SocialSafe digital journal will have noticed that we have released a new update. SocialSafe v6.2.3 was only unleashed into the wild this morning, so if you haven’t updated yet, your SocialSafe should automatically do this the next time you open it.
This version contains:
– Introduction of Password Protection for Standard, Pro & Enterprise users
– New sync user interface & improved sync progress indicator
– New post-sync share user interface & functionality
– Facebook sync stall issue resolved
– Bug fixes & minor user interface improvements
Perhaps the most significant of these is the new Password Protection feature. Whenever we use a shared computer – and often even on a private machine – most of us are in the good practice of logging out of our accounts such as Facebook, Twitter or email. It makes sense therefore that if the same information is stored offline, to keep that copy of it just as secure.
With the new Password Protection feature of SocialSafe, your backed up content from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and Viadeo is afforded the same security as it is on the web from whence it came. Perhaps it’s even more secure – after all, you can physically control who uses your own PC or Mac.
To enable Password Protection for your SocialSafe journal simply go to Settings>Password>Enable Password. From there you can set a password (and hint in case you forget it!), and specify whether or not you want SocialSafe to lock itself after a period of inactivity or when your machine is in Sleep mode.
We hope you like the improvements we’ve made, and as always your feedback is very important to us, so feel free to let us know what you think!
– Thank you for using SocialSafe 🙂
