Brooklyn Startup ‘Coastermatic’ Turns Instagram Photos Into Coasters

Here’s something cool for all you Instgram lovers out there… Turn your Instagram photos into coasters!

Brooklyn-based firm Coastermatic will produce a set of four round, sandstone coasters featuring your selection of Instagram photos for $25 + postage ($6 within the USA, $17 ROW). The founders are Tom Harman and Tash Wong, who are originally from Great Britain and New Zealand respectively, but met in New York at grad school.

While Coastermatic use the Instagram API, they aren’t affiliated with the photography app in any way. However, they do say on their site that they “seeĀ Coastermatic as part of a growing family of Instagram products”.

Other Instagram related ventures include Stickygram, that turns you Instagram photos into magnets, and Postagram that allows you to send actual physical postcards featuring your Instagram images from your iPhone or Android.

Would you be tempted to place an order with Coastermatic? What’s the best use of user generated social network or app content that you have ever seen? Leave a comment below.
