Whenever a social network changes its terms of service, the action is usually greeted with public outcry along the lines of privacy violation. So why is this news today? Instagram has the right to sell your photos. To some people, this is like a red rag to a bull in terms of privacy violation and user exploitation. The same people are also arguing that people who use Instagram do so in order to share photos with the world, so they should take it as a compliment if their shots are picked by the company to showcase itself.
But, everyone has their own limits and boundaries when it comes to personal privacy, and as mentioned above, people are seriously considering ditching the photo-sharing app. If you were thinking of deleting your Instagram account the obvious downside is that you would be deleting all of your photos and associated comments and likes too. Thanks for the quick response. I use twitter and he uses linked in so we would probably upgrade to the 10 eventually. As far as privacy, we both have the other’s passwords to everything as a matter of trust in our marriage so no problems there either (although I appreciate the heads up just in case!).

We are deleting our instagram and facebook accounts. Can my husband and I share a license to download both of our accounts to our shared desktop or do we need to purchase two separate licenses?

Hi Melissa,
With SocialSafe you can back up any combination of social accounts currently supported by the application. So in your situation you’d be best off going for our cheapest licence which allows four accounts to be backed up – this would enable you to back up 2x Facebook profiles and 2x Instagram accounts, which should solve your problem.
If you then decided at a later date that you wanted to add any more networks or profiles (do either of you use LinkedIn or Twitter?) you can upgrade to either 10 or 20 accounts without losing any of the previously backed up content.
Of course I must point out that you will both be able to view any of the content their either of you back up. So even private Facebook messages will be viewable by each other whenever either of you are browsing your collective content.
