Quick Product Performance Update; Application Authorisation Issues

We’ve come a long way in a short space of time with our technology and services, and sometimes we need to step back to move two steps forward.

Here is a quick update about some technical issues you may have been experiencing whilst using the digi.me app and its connected services.

As an organisation we aim to keep our customers, app users, developers and partners up to date with any issues as they arise and communicate them with you, so in the spirit of transparency we hope this is helpful to you.

Firstly, we apologise for any issues you are having using our app and services, we’re working as hard as we possibly can to resolve them quickly.

There have been a number of data sharing failures which have come to our attention and we understand that you may have experienced issues authorising your data to be shared with a third-party app.  At the start of this year we released new fixes for the majority of these issues.

Authorisation and Sync failures caused by known infrastructure issues (Now resolved).

We are still facing issues that are now mainly occurring on android devices with Google Drive and One Drive libraries.

We are working with our partners to identify and solve all remaining authorisation issues.

To help resolve the remaining authorisation problems, we have made improvements to our anonymous event logging so that we can pin down where issues are occurring. This also enabled us to better monitor the success vs failure rate of Private Sharing.

A simple way to work around this problem is to move your digi.me library to Dropbox.  Also, please ensure that you have updated the application to the latest version of the digi.me app and any third-party app.

We’re aiming to resolve the majority of remaining authorisation issues in few weeks. You can check our status page at any time and announcements will be made via our twitter channel @digime.

If you have any questions, our support team are on hand to help, you can contact them by shaking your digi.me app or via email support@digi.me.

We’d like to thank you for your patience and also say a huge thank you to our super friends and partners at UBDI for highlighting this so promptly and working closely with us to get it fixed.
